Veronica Gomes
FOUNDER
Emme Hair founder, Veronica Gomes, discovered her passion for the beauty and hair industry when she began her career in 2005
It was through hairstyling that she was able to express her artistic nature. In 2007, her sister, Maria lost half her hair due to hormonal changes after giving birth to her beautiful baby girl, Mya. Seeing how negatively the hair loss affected her sister, Veronica was determined to find a solution. Together, they educated themselves and sought knowledge from experts in the hair extensions industry, to help people like Maria, going through hair loss from reasons beyond their control. After years of empowering people by aiding them in their hair loss issues, Veronica and Maria found that they were either sacrificing quality for cost, or affordability for quality with many hair extensions brands, especially as Canadians. Finally in 2015, Veronica and Maria created their own line of hair extensions, Emme Hair (formerly VG Hair), with the belief that people everywhere should have affordable access to quality hair. Based in Vancouver, Emme Hair offers unparalleled same-day delivery and pick-up services to local salons and stylists. Today, they continue to build strong relationships with postpartum mothers, cancer foundations, and women within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, using the tools they have created.
Maria Perez

Maria Perez has over a decade of experience working with Hair Extensions. She is the proud co-founder of Emme Hair. Many of her high profile guests travel to Vancouver from all over North America for her magic touch because her obsession with perfection ensures that her work is second to none. Maria has had professional training with some of the world's biggest names such as Hairdreams and celebrity hair guru Tokyo Stylez. She enjoys customizing the perfect look for each and every guest whether it's creating a luxurious wig or applying beautiful hair extensions strand by strand. If you are craving a change in hair volume or length then Maria is your girl!

Our educators have over a decade of experience working with hair extensions and that is why they are so excited to share all their knowledge with you! Knowing where our hair comes from is of paramount importance to us. After searching for years, we finally found our perfect match. Emme Hair is ethically sourced and manufactured in Europe in a beautiful factory with safe and clean working conditions. Our factory gets hair from “hair brokers” purchased directly from women in small towns all over Europe. Most of these women range from age 18-23, and are selling their hair in a fair exchange for currency. Often, the women use the funds obtained from this transaction towards further education or to seek a career away from home. We love the beautiful exchange between our clients here who need the hair to feel empowered, and the people over in Europe who need the funds to build a future for themselves. Emme Hair is made from virgin human hair with minimal chemical treatments, and as a result, does not shed or tangle, and lasts longer than most brands on the market.
Extensions 101
We understand that it can be quite overwhelming choosing the right type of hair extension because there are so many to choose from.
We have created this chart to simplify the options for you. We believe that each type of hair extension was created for a specific hair type and choosing the right one for you is so crucial in creating your dream hair. First, you need to determine what your hair strand diameter and hair density are then the rest is easy! You can test if your hair diameter is fine, medium, or coarse by doing a strand test. If you take a single hair in between your fingers and you don't feel anything, then you have fine hair. If you can feel the hair a bit, then it's medium. Now, If you feel a strong, thick strand with lots of texture to it, then your hair is coarse. Density is determined by looking at the root of your hair and seeing how much hair you have. The more space there is between the hairs, the finer your hair is. If the hairs are packed close together then your hair is thick. If you can’t decide if your hair density is fine or think, then call it medium.
Tape-in hair extensions
This method has taken the world by storm and has easily become the number one seller of all our hair extensions. This method gives long, full and lustrous hair in under a couple hours, and is available in a wide range of colours and lengths. Tape-in hair extensions are quick and easy to apply therefore making them one of the most economical choices of all the hair extensions that we offer. They are applied by sandwiching hair with 2 pieces of tape extensions at the root. Most women will need to apply 15 to 20 sandwiches for a seamless blend. With proper care and maintenance, tape-in hair can be reused a few times.
Micro hair extensions
These beautiful strands will have your new hairstyle looking fabulously natural. They are applied using metal silicone lined rings that attach the tip of the micro hair to the root. The metal rings will allow for the hair to be reused. Clients with fine to medium hair are ideal for this type of hair extension.
Nano hair extensions
This is the most delicate of all the types of hair extensions that we offer and is ideal for fine haired clients. A Nano strand is attached to hair by a tiny silicone lined ring. The Nano strands are placed in a bricklaying pattern throughout the head to ensure perfect coverage. The strands can be reused if they are properly cared for and loved.
Clip-in hair extensions
These are the most versatile of all the hair extensions that we offer. They are for the noncommittal people of the world who like having options. Clip-ins are a great way for you to take matters into their own hands. These extensions can add length and fullness in a matter of minutes and can be applied and removed as you please. Just simply backcomb at the root, then clip and go! They are great for all hair types and can be reused over and over again.
Braidless weave hair extensions
Our signature braidless weave is all the rage at the moment! Gone are the days when a hair extension application would take 8 hours. A braidless weave is a pain free alternative for those who love a traditional “braided weave” look but can’t stand the pain and itching that comes with it. Micro beads are applied at the root of the hair in a row, then weft hair is sewn onto the beads. All you medium to thick haired people out there will love it!
Braided weave hair extensions
This type of hair extension is not for the faint-hearted. It involves tight cornrow braids laying in a horizontal fashion from ear to ear. The cornrows then get weft hair sewn on to them. Everything is super tight to ensure the rows are secure to last weeks and weeks. A braided weave is perfect for medium to thick coarse haired people and will outlast every type of hair extension out there.
